This group includes detectors with an output device in the form of a phosphor screen for visual observation of output events. The phosphor screen applied to a glass or fiber-optic plate converts the charge distribution at the MCP output into a visible image. Phosphor screens can be used in the same way as a single anode (electrical signal detection) because there is an aluminum film applied to the input surface of the phosphor screen. The image from the screen can also be read using a CCD camera.
