Open MCP detectors are microchannel plate based devices for the detection of weak fluxes of charged particles and electromagnetic radiation, which have no input window and are designed to work in vacuum as part of analytical, measuring and scientific equipment. The MCP detectors can have a flange design, i.e. they can be mounted on a standard vacuum flange of a suitable size, being part of the vacuum system and equipped with a sight window in some cases.

Available device versions
- round: with 18, 25, 50, 56 mm active area
- rectangular: 30×30, 54×54, 43×63, 20×90, 70×90, 100×100 mm
- single MCP, MCP chevron stack and MCP Z-stack
- with metal anode, without anode, with phosphor screen
- with a mesh in front of the MCP
- assembled on a vacuum flange
