has-medium-font-size\">Nuclear physics is the science dealing with the structure, properties, and transformations of atomic nuclei, which relies on experimental data on radioactivity and nuclear reactions.&nbsp;The nuclear centers conduct fundamental research, which indirectly influences the development of many technologies in industry, agriculture, medicine, and other fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-emphasis has-primary-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\">Such sources of test particles as charged particle accelerators are widely used in nuclear experiments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most important task in the design and operation of any accelerator facilities is the creation of advanced systems for diagnostics, monitoring, and control of charged particle beams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Such systems provide nondestructive monitoring of spatial and temporal characteristics of heavy ion beams during acceleration and escape from the accelerator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In turn, the development of diagnostic systems for dealing with low-intensity beams is also relevant to many application fields (radiation therapy, radiation resistance of electronic components, radiobiological investigation, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using a large area MCP detector, non-destructive high-speed spatial and temporal monitoring of the ion beam profile generated inside the synchrotron can be performed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull has-grey-10-background-color has-background has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-9d586a0b wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Microchannel plate detectors have a number of advantages:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>high temporal resolution;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>single charged ion detection efficiency which is close to 80%;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ability to measure spatial characteristics with an accuracy of tenths of a millimeter;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>high radiation stability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, gain of a chevron assembly of two microchannel plates can range from 10<sup>6 <\/sup>to 10<sup>8<\/sup>, which allows a wide range of standard electronics to be used without the need of specific signal preamplifiers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">Application<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>MCPs produced by VTC Baspik were used to build a microchannel plate detector to control the spatial and temporal characteristics of the circulating beam of the Nuclotron at JINR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The designed detector makes it possible to measure the spatial and temporal characteristics of the beam in the range of intensities of single charged ions from 10<sup>6<\/sup> to 10<sup>9<\/sup>, which was not overlapped by previously existing measuring instruments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow href=\"https:\/\/baspik.com\/en\/products\/detectors\/open-detectors\/detectors-with-optical-signal-readout\/dv100x100p-detector-based-on-mcp-chevron-stack-and-phosphor-screen\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1737\">DV100\u00d7100P<\/a> detector based on a chevron stack of two large area rectangular microchannel plates and a phosphor screen can be used as a detector for ion beam profile monitoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/baspik.com\/en\/products\/detectors\/mcp-based-vacuum-devices\/single-anode-pmt\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1464\">Photomultiplier tubes (PMTs)<\/a> class=\"wp-block-heading\">Advantages of MCP-PMTs as compared to conventional PMTs are:&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>fast response;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ability of two-dimensional detection at high spatial resolution;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>stable operation even under exposure to high magnetic fields.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>See also <a
