Application Notes

The MCP operating voltage shall not be greater than 100 Volts at atmospheric pressure. The MCP must be placed in vacuum before applying the voltage greater than 100 Volts. In this case the pressure of residual gases should not be greater than 1,33×10-3 Pa (1×10-5 mm Hg). Voltage should be applied to the MCP in 100 Volt steps or smoothly.
The MCP should be handled in a clean-room of ISO 7 class and at a work place of ISO 5 class according to ISO 14644-1-1999.
Avoid touching the MCP with bare hands. It is admitted to take MCPs by its cylindrical surface with talc-free gloves or finger stalls.
No physical object should come in contact with the active area.

Absolute maximum ratings
- maximum operating voltage is 1200 Volts;
- maximum input current density is 1×10-8А/cm2;
- maximum output current density is 4×10-7А/cm2.

Storage conditions Environmental temperature of 5 to 40°C; relative humidity less than 80% at 25°C; no moisture condensation; no aggressive impurities.

Shelf-life: the MCP shall be stored in container provided by the manufacturer during 6 months, in vacuum (1.33×10-3Pa) during 1 year or 15 years as a part of an image intensifier tube. The shelf-life is to be calculated from the acceptance date of manufacturer’s quality inspection, and in a case of reacceptance from the reacceptance date.
